The R&D project SIGRSAMARSUL consisted of the development of electronic prototypes for data acquisition regarding the selective collection of packages, by developing a calculating algorithm, an optimization model and two computer applications to be integrated in Amarsul’s information system, with the objective of optimizing the process of selective garbage collection. The project was financed by QREN and was completed as a partnership with the company Amarsul, IDMEC and EST-Setúbal from 2009 to 2010, and it was executed by a multidisciplinary team of ATTCEI members and collaborators.
